This red air-knit and mesh combo by Nike was worn by Eric Desjardins during the 2002 Team Canada Olympic Training Camp. Desjardins was a 17-year NHL veteran who split his services between 2 squads, the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers. During his career Eric played in better than 1100 games, scoring 575 points and was named 2nd team NHL All Star on two occasions. He partook in 3 NHL All Star games, as well as the Canada Cup, World Cup of Hockey and the Olympics all while representing Team Canada.
Sewn to the back of this sweater is the “Respect” patch. The wear on this size 56 Nike jersey consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, material pulls and inner pilling. A beautiful black sharpie signature in Desjardins’ own hand can be found on the upper verso. Eric’s surname and number are sewn to the verso while the red, black and green Team Canada crest is sewn proudly to the chest. A nice international offering donned by this NHL All Star as he competed for a spot on the 2002 Team Canada Olympic Team.
