This white air-knit and mesh combo by Nike was worn by Anson Carter during the 2002 Team Canada Olympic Training Camp. The Quebec Nordiques selected Carter in the 10th round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Anson spent 4 years playing at Michigan State University before beginning his NHL career in 1996-97 with the Washington Capitals. After 19 games with Washington, Carter was dealt to the Boston Bruins where he played for the next 4 seasons. Carter then spent time in Edmonton, New York, Washington again, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Columbus and Carolina before retiring from the NHL with better than 200 career goals.
Sewn to the back of this sweater is the “Respect” patch. The wear on this size 56 Nike jersey consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. A beautiful black sharpie signature in Carter’s own hand can be found on the upper verso. Anson’s surname and number are sewn to the verso while the red, black and green Team Canada crest is sewn proudly to the chest. A nice international offering donned by this former 30-Goal man as he competed for a spot on the 2002 Team Canada Olympic Team.
