2002-03 Stephane Matteau Florida Panthers Game Worn Jersey – “2003 All Star” – Photo Match – Team Letter
Lot #70
This road red air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Stephane Matteau during the 2002-03 NHL season, his last year in the NHL. The Calgary Flames selected Matteau in the 2nd round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. This Quebec native made his NHL debut in 1990-91 with the Calgary Flames. Matteau would go on to enjoy a 13-year NHL career. During that time, he represented the Flames, Blackhawks, Rangers, Blues, Sharks and Panthers. Most famously, Stephane is remembered for scoring a pair of game-winning overtime goals in the 1994 ECF, including the clincher after which “MATTEAU, MATTEAU, MATTEAU” became etched in NY Rangers lore. The 1994 Stanley Cup was Matteau’s one and only during his NHL career.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 2003 Florida NHL All Star Game patch. The game wear on this 1st set size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above are a couple of beautiful photo matches of Matteau wearing this exact jersey during the 2002-03 season. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. Sewn alongside is the official Florida Panthers game worn jersey and set tagging. A well-worn patched and photo matched offering that hails from this beloved player’s last NHL season. This jersey will be accompanied by a Panthers team letter.
