This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Sandy McCarthy during the 2002-03 NHL season. The Calgary Flames selected McCarthy in the 3rd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. This legendary enforcer played his junior hockey with the Laval Titans and spent a season with the IHL’s Salt Lake Golden Eagles before making his NHL debut in 1993-94 with Calgary. McCarthy spent five seasons with the Flames before representing the Lightning, Flyers, Hurricanes, Rangers and Bruins. McCarthy’s career spanned 736 games over the course of 11 seasons that saw him rack up 1534 PIMS while standing toe to toe with every heavyweight willing to take him on.
The game wear on this 2nd set size 58 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of McCarthy wearing this exact jersey during the 2002-03 season. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A well-worn photo matched example that hails from this enforcer’s last full season with the Rangers. This jersey will be accompanied by a Rangers team letter.
