2002-03 Rick Nash Columbus Blue Jackets Training Camp Worn Jersey – Rookie – Team Letter
Lot #265

This red knit jersey by Jofa was worn by Rick Nash during training camp prior to the 2002-03 NHL season, his rookie year. The Columbus Blue Jackets selected Nash with the 1st overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. In only his 2nd year, Nash exploded for a 41-goal outburst that was good enough to capture the 2003-04 Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy as the leagues top goal scorer. He was a member of the 2003 All-Rookie Team and played in 6 NHL All Star games. On the international scene, Nash represented Team Canada in numerous World Championships and three Olympics. Nash finished his playing days with 1060 games played, 437 career goals thanks in part to three 40-goal seasons.

Sewn to the right breast of this jersey is the Center Ice patch. The wear on this size 58 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. On the back player number is a faded blue sharpie signature in Nash’s own hand. A nice offering from this former Rocket Richard Trophy winner’s rookie season. This jersey will be accompanied by a Blue Jackets team letter.
