This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Phil Housley during the 2002-03 NHL season, the last of his 21-year NHL career. The Buffalo Sabres selected Housley with the 6th overall pick in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. This native of St. Paul, MN joined the Sabres immediately thereafter and remained with the team for the first 8 years of his 21-year NHL career. Housley would go on to play for the Jets, Blues, Flames, Devils, Capitals, Blackhawks and Maple Leafs. During that time, Phil became one of the NHL’s most prolific scoring defenseman, played in 7 NHL All Star games and earned a 2nd Team NHL All Star selection in 1992. In 1495 career games, Housley scored 338 goals and 1232 points. On the international stage, Housley represented Team USA in a pair of Canada Cups, the World Cup of Hockey, numerous World Championships and the Olympics. Housley was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the class of 2015.
The game wear on this 2nd set size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Chicago Blackhawks game worn jersey and set tagging. A nice example hailing from this All Star defenseman’s last NHL season and representing one of the last gamers Housley wore during his Hall of Fame career.
