2002-03 Pete Vandermeer Philadelphia Phantoms Game Worn Jersey - 335 PIMS Season
Lot #127
This road black air-knit gamer by SP was worn by Pete Vandermeer during the 2002-03 AHL season. This Red Deer native made his NHL debut in 2007-08 with the Phoenix Coyotes. He made his professional debut in 1996-97 with the Columbus Chill, where in 30 games he put up 195 PIMS. It began with a bang and never slowed down as Vandermeer became one of the all-time great minor league enforcers. Pete played 15 professional seasons, spent mainly in the AHL with a bit of ECHL sprinkled in along with one UHL season. Vandermeer sits in 3rd place all-time on the AHL PIMS list with 2772 in just 611 games played. When combining Pete’s AHL, ECHL and UHL stats, he retired having played in 841 games while amassing a mind-boggling 4197 PIMS! It’s rarified air when a player averages better than 5 PIMS per game throughout his career as Pete did.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. This game wear on this 2nd set size 60 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, material pulls, light cuff pilling and inner pilling. Pete played in 77 games and racked up 335 PIMS while wearing this sweater during in his second of three seasons with the Phantoms. Of note, Vandermeer tabbed three-consecutive 300+ PIMS seasons with the Phantoms and became their all-time leader in PIMS in the process. A nice example worn by this 4000+ PIMS player and legendary minor-league enforcer.
