This black air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Ossi Vaananen during the 2002-03 Young Stars Game. The Phoenix Coyotes selected Vaananen in the 2nd round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Vantaa, Finland spent a couple of years with Jokerit Helsinki before making his NHL debut with the Coyotes in 2000-01. Ossi played four seasons with Phoenix before joining the Colorado Avalanche in 2005-06 for a two-year stint. Vaananen finished up his NHL career with stops in Philadelphia and Vancouver before returning to Europe where he played primarily with Jokerit before retiring in 2016.
Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Young Stars Game patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is on the light side as would be expected. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Vaananen wearing this exact jersey during the 2002-03 Young Stars Game on February 1, 2003 in Sunrise, Florida.
