2002-03 Olaf Kolzig Washington Capitals Game Worn Jersey - NHL Letter
Lot #174

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by goaltender Olaf Kolzig during the 2002-03 NHL season. The Washington Capitals selected Kolzig in the 1st round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He would go on to become the most successful goalie in Capitals history, backstopping the club for 16 seasons and winning better than 300 games during his career. “Olie The Goalie” led the Caps to the Stanley Cup Finals for the only time in team history in 1998. He captured the Vezina Trophy as the leagues best goaltender in 2000 and the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2006. This two-time NHL All Star was also named 1st Team NHL All Star in 2000. Internationally Kolzig represented Germany in numerous World Championships, 2 World Cups of Hockey and 2 Olympics.

The game wear on this enormous 1st set size 64 goalie cut sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and puck marks, loads of goal post and crossbar paint transfer, pulls, abrasions and areas of heavy pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. A tremendous and well-worn example that was donned by this 300-Win club member during the prime of his career. This jersey will be accompanied by an NHL letter.
