Description
2002-03 Martin Gerber Anaheim Mighty Ducks Game Worn Jersey – Rookie – “2003 Stanley Cup Finals”
Lot #119
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Martin Gerber during the 2002-03 Stanley Cup Finals. The Anaheim Mighty Ducks selected Gerber in the 8th round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. This Swiss native began his NHL career with the Ducks in 2002-03 and as a rookie got a taste of the Stanley Cup Finals as he and his Ducks lost a hard-fought 7-game series to Marty Brodeur’s Devils. After a couple of seasons with the Ducks, Gerber joined the Carolina Hurricanes and again trekked to the Stanley Cup Finals in his first year with the club, walking away victorious this time and earning his only Stanley Cup Ring. Three seasons with the Ottawa Senators was followed by a partial year with the Maple Leafs in 2008-09. Since leaving the NHL, Gerber has been starring between the pipes in Europe.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals patch. After appearing in a couple of playoff games, Gerber served as J.S. Giguere’s backup throughout the Finals and thus the wear presented on this sweater would be from pre-game activity. The wear on this size 58 goalie cut sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging.
