This road black air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Krzysztof Oliwa during the 2002-03 NHL season. The New Jersey Devils selected Oliwa in the 3rd round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Tychy, Poland made his NHL debut in 1996-97 with the Devils where he played for five seasons. This enforcer went on to represent the Blue Jackets, Penguins, Rangers, Bruins and Flames over the course of his 9-year NHL career. Krzysztof twice finished top three in the league in PIMS and in 410 games played, Oliwa registered a most impressive 1447 PIMS.
The game wear on this 3rd set size 58 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, plenty of un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. In 33 games played for the Bruins, Oliwa put up 110 PIMS while wearing this sweater during the latter part of the season that included his fight against Zdeno Chars, screen capture included above. Oliwa gamers have been sneaky elusive for the fight fans thru the years and this example would make a great addition to any collection of enforcers.
