2002-03 Kevin Kerr Elmira Jackals Game Worn Jersey
Lot #226

This blue air-knit gamer by SP was worn by Kevin Kerr during the 2002-03 UHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Kerr in the 3rd round of the 1986 NHL entry Draft. This gifted enforcer made his minor pro debut in 1987-88 with the Rochester Americans and began a storied minor pro career that spanned 18 seasons for 15 teams across 5 minor leagues where he racked up better than 3700 PIMS while shattering the all-time scoring record with 677 goals. Kerr retired as the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of minor professional hockey with 677 goals. He retired as the UHL’s all-time leader in several scoring categories including goals with 469, power play goals with 173 and game winning goals with 65. His 901 points and 1776 PIMS ranked 3rd all-time. Kevin won the UHL’s Most Valuable Player Award in 1993-94 and had his #20 retired to the rafters by Flint. Following his playing days, Kerr began what has become a successful career behind the bench. Just two years removed from an SPHL Championship, Kerr recently signed on to coach the ECHL’s Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, trauma and fine inner pilling. Kerr played in just 33 games for Elmira, posting 11 goals and 51 PIMS at one of his many minor league stops. A well-worn offering of one of minor league hockey’s all-time greats.
