This white air-knit gamer by CCM was prepared for use by Jaroslav Bednar during the Kings season opener, October 9, 2002 as they retired Wayne Gretzky’s #99 to the rafters. The Los Angeles Kings selected Bednar in the 2nd round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. This Czech native spent 3 seasons in the NHL, making his debut with Los Angeles in 2001-02. Jaroslav joined the Florida Panthers during the 2002-03 season and finished his NHL career in the Sunshine State in 2003-04. Prior to and following his NHL career, Bednar played a full career in Europe; He played from the mid 1990’s thru the early 2000’s prior to his NHL playing days. After leaving the NHL, Jaroslav played in Europe from 2004 through this past year, into his early forties.

Sewn to the right breast of this jersey is the “99” Retirement Night patch. This 2nd period set size 56 sweater was issued to Bednar who was a late scratch for the Kings season opener. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. This jersey will be accompanied by a Kings team letter.
