Description
2002-03 Chris Simon Washington Capitals Game Worn Jersey - NHL Letter
Lot #562

This road black air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Chris Simon during the 2002-03 NHL season. The Philadelphia Flyers selected Simon in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career in Quebec in 1992-93 and remained with the franchise thru their move to Colorado in what was a Stanley Cup winning season in 1995-96. Simon next joined the Washington Capitals in 1996-97 and spent 7 years with the franchise, while making another appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals. Other brief NHL career stops included Chicago, the Rangers, Flames, Islanders and Wild. Since leaving the NHL, Simon has spent the past few seasons playing in Russia’s KHL. This legendary enforcer took on all comers and ended his NHL career with 1824 PIMS. That total included a career high of 250 PIMS in his Cup winning season in Colorado. A fact that may surprise many is that Simon scored a career high 29-goals with the Capitals in 1999-00.

The 2002-03 season was Simon’s last in Washington. On November 1st, 2002 he was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks a mere month into the season. Offered here is Simon’s last road gamer from his time in Washington. The game wear on this gigantic 1st set size 64 goalie cut sweater consists of stick marks, numerous board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above, for your enjoyment, are some video highlights of Simon letting fly during his Capitals days. Sewn to the inside hem is the official NHL game worn jersey tagging. Sewn alongside is the official Washington Capitals game worn jersey and set tagging. This jersey will be accompanied by an NHL letter.
