This 2001 Orlando Solar Bears Turner Cup Championship Ring was given to Norm Maracle for playing on the Solar Bears 2000-01 Championship team. The Detroit Red Wings selected Maracle in the 5th round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He spent a handful of seasons honing his craft with Adirondack before joining the Red Wings NHL squad. After only 2 seasons in Detroit, that included the 1998 Stanley Cup, Norm joined the Atlanta Thrashers in 1999-00. He spent parts of 3 years playing in Atlanta, his final NHL stop. While Norm was in Atlanta, he was up and down between the Thrashers and the IHL Orlando Solar Bears. Norm played in 51 Games in 2000-01 for the Solar Bears, winning 33 games while losing only 13. He also played all 16 post season games, leading the Solar Bears to the Turner Cup Championship. After leaving North America, Maracle spent the rest of his career playing overseas in Russia, Germany and Austria.


This 10k gold ring features a center diamond. Around the diamond it reads “IHL CHAMPIONSHIP. Around that it reads “ORLANDO SOLAR BEARS with the Solar Bears footprint on both sides. One shank reads “2001 IHL TURNER CUP CHAMPIONS. The other shank has the player name “MARACLE”, the Solar Bears logo and “ARE YOU READY”. Inside the ring it is engraved with the player name “Norm Maracle” and is stamped 10k.
