This road red air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Petr Sykora during the 2001-02 NHL season. The New Jersey Devils selected Sykora in the 1st round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Sykora began his NHL career with the Devils in 1995-96 and remained with the franchise for 7 years, long enough to capture his first Stanley Cup. Petr next spent two and a half years with Anaheim where he led his team to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals against his former mates. A half season on Broadway followed prior to joining the Oilers for the 2006-07 season. Next up it was a 2-year stay with Pittsburgh where Petr’s leadership helped guide the young Penguins to two straight Stanley Cup Finals, and saw his team walk away with the Cup in 2009. The 2009-10 season was spent in Minnesota before Sykora headed to Europe to continue his career. The 2011-12 season saw Petr make a return to the NHL, scoring over 20 goals and playing every game with the team he began his career with, the Devils. Winning wherever he went, Sykora netted better than 300 goals and also represented the Czech Republic in the 1996 and 2004 World Cup of Hockey as well as the 2002 Olympics.
The game wear on this 2nd set size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Sykora wearing this exact jersey during the 2001-02 season. On the inside hem is the official New Jersey Devils game worn jersey and set stamp. A nice photo matched offering from Sykora’s last season with the Devils from his original stint. This jersey will be accompanied by a Devils team letter.
