This white alternate air-knit gamer by SP was worn by Darcy Robinson during the 2001-02 AHL season, his rookie year. The Pittsburgh Penguins selected Robinson in the 8th round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. This Kamloops native made his professional debut in 2001-02, his first of four seasons in either the ECHL or AHL. In 2005, Robinson went to Italy and joined Asiago HC where he completed a couple of seasons of play. Merely three minutes into the season opener of year three, Robinson collapsed on the ice, was rushed to a hospital and sadly was pronounced dead.
Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the 9-11 American Flag patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is on the lighter side as would be expected with stick and slash marks, board burns and inner pilling worthy of mention. A nice 9-11 rookie alternate worn by this former Pittsburgh Penguins draft choice who tragically died on the ice.
