Description
2000 Martin Lapointe Team Canada World Championships Game Worn Jersey Team Canada Letter
Lot #234

This white air-knit, knit and mesh combo by Nike was worn by Martin Lapointe during the 2000 World Championships. The Detroit Red Wings selected Lapointe with the 10th overall pick in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. This Quebec native made his NHL debut in 1991-92 with the Red Wings. Martin spent the first 10 years of his 16-year NHL career with the Red Wings, winning two Stanley Cups in the process. He finished up his career with stays in Boston, Chicago and Ottawa. All told this feisty winger played in 991 games and compiled 1417 PIMS in the process, including a span of 6 consecutive years with triple digit PIMS totals. On the international stage, Lapointe represented Team Canada in the World Juniors and World Championships.

Sewn to the shoulders of this gamer are the sponsorship patches. The game wear on this size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. Affixed to the inside hem is the official Nike barcode. The 2000 World Championships were the first and only time that Lapointe played for his country in the World Championships, after having competed on three occasions in the World Juniors for Team Canada. This jersey will be accompanied by a Team Canada letter.
