Description
2000-01 Ziggy Palffy Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #133

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Ziggy Palffy during the 2001-02 NHL season. The New York Islanders selected Palffy in the 2nd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Ziggy made his NHL debut with a 5-game stint in 1993-94 and spent his first 6 seasons with the Islanders becoming the team’s premiere goal scorer with consecutive season totals of 43, 48 and 45 spanning 1995-1998. Palffy next spent five years with the LA Kings and then one final season with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005-06 before returning to Slovakia where he spent the last handful of years of his playing career. Ziggy played in three NHL All Star Games and represented Slovakia in numerous World Championships, the inaugural World Cup of Hockey and three Olympics.

The game wear on this 2nd set size 56 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a material backed team-sewn repair. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Los Angeles Kings game worn jersey and set tagging. Ziggy lit the lamp 38 times and added 51 assists for a robust 89 points while wearing this jersey in front of the hometown fans during the 2000-01 season. It was the second highest points total of Ziggy’s career and his best in an LA uniform.
