2000-01 Stu Grimson Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey Team Letter
Lot #111

This road black air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Stu Grimson during the 2000-01 NHL playoffs. After unsuccessfully trying to break into Calgary’s lineup in the late 1980’s, this enforcer found a home with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1990. Grimson would build the foundation of his career in Chicago, where he played for three seasons. His NHL journey would later take him to Anaheim, Detroit, Hartford, Carolina, LA and Nashville. Stu would partake in 14 NHL seasons, striking fear into the opposition as he patrolled the left wing. In 729 career games, Grimson compiled 2113 PIMS. “The Grim Reaper” as he was aptly nicknamed, will forever be remembered as one of the most feared heavyweights of his generation.

The game wear on this size 60 playoff set sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair above the right elbow. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup Playoffs patch. The longtime LA Kings equipment manager has penned his initials in silver sharpie on said patch. A nice example from the season that saw “The Grim Reaper” tab the highest PIMS total of his NHL career. This jersey will be accompanied by a Kings team letter.
