2000-01 Sandis Ozolinsh NHL All Star Game Worn Jersey – “2001 NHL All Star”
Lot #156
This red World Team air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Sandis Ozolinsh during the 2000-01 NHL All Star Game. The San Jose Sharks selected Ozolinsh in the 2nd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. This Latvian native began his NHL career with San Jose in 1992 after coming over from Russia. Ozolinsh was dealt to the Colorado Avalanche in 1995-96 and went on to win the Stanley Cup later that spring. Ozolinsh spent 5 years in Colorado before playing for Carolina, Florida, Anaheim, New York and San Jose for a second time. After leaving the NHL, Sandis spent five seasons playing in Russia’s KHL. In 15-years and 875 games of NHL service, Ozolinsh tallied 564 points from his position on the point. This 7-time NHL All Star earned 1st Team NHL All Star honors in 1997. On the international stage Ozolinsh appeared in the World Championships and a couple of Olympics.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Colorado All Star Game patch. Sewn to the left breast are the NHL shield and Ozolinsh’s player number 8. Sewn to the left sleeve is the flag of Team Latvia while the Carolina Hurricanes logo is sewn to the right shoulder. A beautiful black sharpie signature in Ozolinsh’s own hand resides alongside the back player number. Affixed to the fight strap is the official NHL alpha-numeric authentication code. Typical light but obvious All Star Game use exists with some stick marks, pilling, material pulls and sweat staining around the collar, an inherent trait on this short-lived formal collared style. A nice example worn by this 7-time NHL All Star.
