Description
2000-01 Robert Lang Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Jersey - "Japan Game One 2000 NHL"
Lot #203
This white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Robert Lang during the opening series of the 2000-01 NHL season in Saitama, Japan. The Los Angeles Kings selected Lang in the 7th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He began his NHL career with the 1992-93 LA Kings and spent 4 seasons with the club prior to joining the Boston Bruins in 1997. After merely 3 games in Beantown, Lang joined the Pittsburgh Penguins with whom he played for the next 5 seasons. Lang then spent 2 seasons with the Washington Capitals, which preceded a couple with the Detroit Red Wings and finally a year each with Chicago, Montreal and Phoenix. Lang enjoyed some of his best years playing alongside fellow Czech Jaromir Jagr with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He represented the 2004 Washington Capitals in the NHL All Star Game and put forth an international resume that includes several World Championships, the inaugural World Cup of Hockey and 4 Olympics!

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Game One Japan 2000 NHL patch. Worn during the season opening series against Nashville in Saitama Japan, the game wear on this size 54 sweater will surprise you and consists of a good many stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, washed out bloodstains, a salted fight strap and inner pilling. A nice patched example from the NHL’s season opening foray in Japan.
