2000-01 Paul Kruse Chicago Wolves IHL All Star Game Game Worn Jersey – “2001 Chicago IHL All Star” – “Two-Time Turner Cup Champions” - Last-Ever IHL All Star Game
Lot #275

This black knit gamer by SP was worn by Paul Kruse during the 2001 IHL All Star Game, the last-ever All Star Game in IHL history. The Calgary Flames selected Kruse in the 4th round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. Kruse made his NHL debut in 1990-91 with the Flames where he played for 7 seasons before moving on to represent the Islanders, Sabres and Sharks. All told this enforcer spent 11 seasons roaming NHL rinks and creating havoc. In 423 games played, Kruse racked up 1074 PIMS.

Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the 2001 Chicago IHL All Star Game patch. Sewn to the right breast is the Two-Time Turner Cup Champions 1998 & 2000 patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is on the lighter side as would be expected. Despite having the Western Conference’s worst record at the time, the Chicago Wolves took on and defeated the IHL All Stars 4-0 in the last-ever annual classic. It was the first and only shutout in IHL history. A nice example of a tough to find style hailing from the IHL’s final season of play.
