Lot #172

This road blue air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Milan Hnilicka during the 2000-01 NHL season. The New York Islanders selected Hnilicka in the 4th round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. This Czech native made his NHL debut in 1999-00 with the New York Rangers. Milan next spent three seasons standing between the pipes for the Atlanta Thrashers before making a final NHL stop with the LA Kings. Hnilicka returned to Europe in 2004 and tended goal for another five seasons before retiring. On the international stage, Hnilicka represented the Czech Republic in numerous World Championships as well as the 2006 Olympics.

The game wear on this size 58 Goalie cut sweater consists of stick, slash and puck marks, a one-inch sized un-repaired slice on the sleeve and pilling. Hnilicka shared the goaltending duties in his first season in Atlanta while wearing this sweater during road games. After playing in 36 games in 2000-01, he assumed the starting role and played in 60 games for the Thrashers the following season. A nice example from the Atlanta Thrashers 2nd year of existence.
