2000-01 Danny Markov Toronto Maple Leafs Game Worn Jersey – Team Letter
Lot #145

This road blue air-knit gamer by Koho was worn by Danny Markov during the 2000-01 NHL season. The Toronto Maple Leafs selected Markov in the 9th round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. This native of Moscow, Russia made his NHL debut with Toronto in 1997-98. He remained with the Leafs for 4 seasons before joining the Phoenix Coyotes in 2001-02. After a couple of years in the desert, Markov completed his NHL career with stops in Carolina, Philadelphia, Nashville and Detroit. In 2007-08, Danny returned to Russia and spent the next 7 seasons in the KHL before retiring in 2014. On the international stage, Danny played for his native Russia in the World Championships as well as the 2002 and 2006 Olympics.

The game wear on this 2nd set size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, a number of un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a team-sewn repair. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Toronto Maple Leafs game worn jersey and set tagging. A well-worn example by this 2-time Olympian. This jersey will be accompanied by a Maple Leafs team letter.
