2000-01 Bob Probert Chicago Blackhawks Game Worn Jersey – “75-year Anniversary”
Lot #92

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Bob Probert during the 2000-01 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Probert in the 3rd round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Probert made his NHL debut in 1985-86 with the Red Wings where he played for 9 years. It didn’t take long for Bob to make his presence felt, chipping in 21 points and 186 PIMS in 44 games as a rookie. The following two seasons Probert and the Wings made trips to the Conference Finals, where they fell both times to the Oilers dynasty. During that time, Probert established himself as the NHL’s top enforcer and became a serious fan favorite. Following some off-ice problems and a year away from the sport, Probert’s career landed him in Chicago where he ran roughshod over the league for the next 7 seasons, picking up exactly where he had left off. All told, Bob played for 16 seasons in the NHL and is 5th on the NHL’s all-time penalty minute leaders list with 3300 PIMS! Considered one of the most feared men who ever laced up the skates, this tough guy will never be forgotten by the fans that witnessed his wrath. Sadly, Bob passed away at only 46 years of age in the summer of 2010.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the Chicago Blackhawks 75-year anniversary patch. The game wear on this 1st set size 60 Goalie cut sweater is on the lighter side and consists of stick marks, washed out bloodstains and inner pilling. A nice anniversary patched offering worn by this legendary pugilist towards the end of his storied career.
