1999 Robert Esche Springfield Falcons Game Worn Jersey
Lot #638
This home white knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Robert Esche circa the 1999 AHL season. The Phoenix Coyotes selected Esche in the 6th round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with Phoenix in 1998-99 and spent a total of 4 years with the team that drafted him. Robert next joined the Philadelphia Flyers where he guarded the nets for 4 more seasons before taking his career to Russia where he has played in the KHL for the past 3 seasons. Esche captured the 2002-03 Jennings Trophy in his first season with the Philadelphia Flyers.

During his time with the Phoenix organization, Esche split time between the Coyotes and the Springfield Falcons in the late 1990’s. Esche played in 55 games for the Falcons in 1998-99 and another 21 in 1999-00. Offered here is his home sweater circa that era. Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this size 56 goalie cut sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer, team-sewn repair work and some heavy areas of pilling. Just above the crest lies a black sharpie signature in Esche’s own hand. A nice offering of this former Jennings Trophy recipient from the start of his professional career.
