1999-00 Stu Grimson Anaheim Mighty Ducks Game Worn Jersey
Lot #116
This home white air-knit gamer by Pro Player was worn by Stu Grimson during the 1999-00 NHL season. After unsuccessfully trying to break into Calgary’s lineup in the late 1980’s, Grimson found a home with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1990. Grimson would build the foundation of his career in Chicago, where he played for 3 seasons. His NHL journey would later take him to Anaheim, Detroit, Hartford, Carolina, LA and Nashville. Stu would partake in 14 NHL seasons, striking fear into the opposition as he patrolled the left wing. In 729 career games, Grimson compiled 2113 PIMS. “The Grim Reaper” as he was aptly nicknamed, will forever be remembered as one of the most feared heavyweights of his generation.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s year 2000 patch. The game wear on this size 58 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns and inner pilling. Fight abuse is evident in the form of washed out bloodstains that are found prominently along the right elbow area as well as stitch pops and separation at the front collar. A nice enforcer’s gamer from one of the all-time heavyweights. Shown above, for your enjoyment, are some terrific video highlights of Grimson letting fly while wearing his home white sweater during the 1999-00 season.
