1999-00 Joe Murphy Boston Bruins Game Worn Jersey Alternate
Lot #181
This gold alternate air-knit gamer by Pro Player was worn by Joe Murphy during the 1999-00 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected Murphy with the 1st overall pick in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. After playing his college hockey at Michigan State University and leading them to an NCAA Division 1 Championship, Murphy joined the Red Wings and began his NHL career in 1986-87. After parts of 4 years in Detroit, Murphy was dealt to the Edmonton Oilers in 1989-90 and preceded to win a Stanley Cup later that spring. Murph spent 3 years with the Oilers before beginning a 4-year stint with the Chicago Blackhawks. Joe finished up his career with time in St. Louis, San Jose, Boston and Washington.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the NHL’s year 2000 patch. The game wear on this size 54 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, stitch pops, inner pilling and 8 team-sewn repairs. Murphy played a mere 26 games as a member of the Bruins before heading to Washington where he completed his NHL career.
