1999-00 Jiri Slegr Pittsburgh Penguins Game Worn Jersey - Overtime Game Winner - Photo Match
Lot #69
This home white air-knit gamer by Pro Player was worn by Jiri Slegr during the 1999-00 NHL season. The Vancouver Canucks selected Slegr in the 2nd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. This Czech native made his NHL debut in 1992-93 with the Canucks. Over the course of a 12-year NHL career, Slegr represented Vancouver, Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Detroit and Boston. Jiri also spent 14 seasons playing in the Czech league, both before and after his NHL playing days. Slegr was no stranger to the international stage and is revered for having scored the Olympic game winner to bring Gold to the Czechs in Tokyo.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. Sewn to the right breast is the year 2000 patch. The game wear on this 3rd set size 56 sweater consists of numerous stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, material pulls and inner pilling. The Pro Player logo on the lower verso has been covered by the team with sewn on knit material. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Slegr wearing this exact jersey after scoring the OT game-winning goal against the Capitals. A beautiful photo matched patched example, complete with the coveted letter of honor that was worn to score a pivotal OT game-winner in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
