This road red air-knit jersey by CCM was issued for use for Darren McCarty during the 1999-00 NHL season. The Detroit Red Wings selected McCarty in the 2nd round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. This Burnaby, BC native made his NHL debut in 1993-94 with the Red Wings. During his 13 seasons with the club, Darren appeared in five Stanley Cup Finals, walking away victorious four times. McCarty also spent two seasons as a member of the Calgary Flames. Always a willing combatant, this grinder averaged about 2 PIMS per game over the course of his career having accumulated 1477 PIMS in 758 regular season games.
Sewn to the right breast of this jersey is the year 2000 patch. The sleeves on this jersey have been customized for McCarty by the team. This 1st set size 56 backup sweater shows no signs of use and is therefore being sold as team issued. On the inside hem is the official Detroit Red Wings game worn jersey and set stamps. A customized and patched example prepared for use by this four-time Stanley Cup Champion.
