Description
1999-00 Craig Berube Philadelphia Flyers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #122

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Craig Berube during the 1999-00 NHL season. “The Chief” made his NHL debut in 1986-87 with the Philadelphia Flyers and as a rookie journeyed to the Stanley Cup Finals. Berube played for the Flyers for a total of 7 seasons over the course of his 17-year NHL career. He also briefly represented the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and New York Islanders as well as the Washington Capitals where he played for parts of 7 seasons, including the 1997-98 season that trekked to the Stanley Cup Finals. This legendary enforcer played in 1054 games and amassed 3149 PIMS over the course of his career. “The Chief” is one of only 9 men to have reached the 3000 PIMS mark and ranks 7th on the NHL’s all-time PIMS list! Since retiring, Craig served as the Head Coach for the Philadelphia Flyers and most recently the St. Louis Blues, where in his first year on the job, he led St. Louis to the first Stanley Cup title in franchise history.

Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the year 2000 patch. The game wear on this size 56 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, a salted fight strap, fine inner pilling and several team-sewn repairs. The 1999-00 season was Berube’s last with the Flyers; Craig played in 77 games and racked up 162 PIMS while wearing this jersey in front of the hometown fans at the Spectrum in Philadelphia.
