1998 Ken Gernander AHL All Star Game Worn Jersey – “1998 Syracuse AHL All Star”
Lot #217
This blue knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Ken Gernander during the 1997-98 AHL All Star Game. The Winnipeg Jets selected Gernander in the 5th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. This Coleraine, MN native played his college hockey at the University of Minnesota before making his professional debut in 1991-92 with the Moncton Hawks. Gernander spent parts of three seasons with the NHL’s New York Rangers during what was a 14-year playing career. This legendary AHLer spent 14 seasons in the league, the majority with the New York Rangers affilliates. This long-serving Captain’s player number 12 was retired by the franchise. After leaving the playing ranks, this fan favorite became the long-serving Head Coach of the franchise. Gernander was inducted into the AHL Hall of Fame in 2013.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. Sewn to the right shoulder of this gamer is the 1998 Syracuse AHL All Star game patch. The game wear on this size 52 sweater is on the lighter side as would be expected. Gernander was at the top of his craft in 1997-98, scoring 35 Goals, the second highest total of his Hall of Fame career.
