1998-99 Stu Grimson Anaheim Mighty Ducks Training Camp Game Worn Jersey
Lot #179

This white air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by Stu Grimson Druing pre-season training camp during the 1998-99 NHL seasson. The Detroit Red Wings and Calgary Flames respectively selected Grimson in the 1983 and 1985 NHL Entry Draft’s. This Vancouver native made his NHL debut in 1988-89 with the Calgary Flames where he played for parts of two seasons before joining the Chicago Blackhawks. This enforcer would then go on to represent Anaheim, Detroit, Hartford, Carolina, LA and Nashville over the course of 14 NHL seasons, striking fear into the opposition as he patrolled the left wing. “The Grim Reaper” as he was aptly nicknamed, will forever be remembered as one of the most feared heavyweights of his generation, amassing 2113 PIMS in a mere 729 games.

The sleeves and fight strap of this gamer have been customized for Grimson by the team. The game wear on this size 58 sweater consists of stick marks, board burns, inner pilling and fight abuse. Both wrists have been opened up with inserts added. Each of those wrist areas have been subsequently ripped down and repaired, with additional fight abuse evident at the custom traumatized fight strap. Affixed to the inside hem is the official Anaheim Mighty Ducks game worn jersey and set information. In this, Stu’s second stint with the Ducks, he left no doubt to the would-be enforcers who tried to pry away his roster spot in camp that it simply wasn’t going to happen. A nice offering worn by one of the great heavyweights.
