1998-99 Lyle Odelein New Jersey Devils Game Worn Jersey – Photo Match
Lot #223

This road red air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Lyle Odelein during the 1998-99 NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens selected Odelein in the 7th round of the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Lyle made his NHL debut in 1989-90 with the Canadiens where he played for 7 seasons, winning a Stanley Cup in 1993. Odelein later played for the Devils, Coyotes, Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, Stars, Panthers and Penguins. In an NHL career that spanned 1056 games over the course of 16 seasons, this agitator extraordinaire amassed 2316 PIMS. During that time, Lyle had five seasons of better than 200 PIMS, with his single season best coming with Montreal in 1993-94 when he rang up 276 PIMS.

The game wear on this 1st set size 58 goalie cut sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, material pulls, stitch popping at the collar, inner pilling and team-sewn repair work on both sleeves. Shown above is a beautiful photo match of Odelein wearing this exact jersey during the 1998-99 season. On the inside hem is the official New Jersey Devils game worn jersey and set tagging. A nice photo matched example that was worn by one of the NHL’s premier agitators.
