These 14 NHL and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, some which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This home white knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Larry Shapley during the 1998-99 AHL season, his rookie year. The Vancouver Canucks selected Shapley in the 6th round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Standing at a mammoth 6’ 6” in height, Shapley had one role, that of enforcer. He played in a mere 79 professional games between the AHL, IHL and ECHL over the course of two seasons. He earned the nickname “Moose” by his teammates who loved him despite his lack of hockey skills, but simply for the incredible protection he provided.

Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the Syracuse Crunch 5-year anniversary patch. Sewn to the right breast and shoulder are the sponsorship patches. The game wear on this size 58 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, washed out bloodstains, a torn and un-repaired rear collar and heavy inner pilling. Shapley played in 50 games with the Crunch and amassed 254 PIMS, many of the 5-minute major variety! A terrific offering of this enforcer who was here and then gone in the blink of an eye. This jersey will be accompanied by a Crunch team letter.
