1998-99 John Vanbiesbrouck Phladelphia Flyers Game Worn Jersey Alternate Also Includes Socks
Lot #196

This black alternate air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by John Vanbiesbrouck during the 1998-99 NHL season. The New York Rangers selected Vanbiesbrouck in the 4th round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft. Beezer’s NHL career spanned a total of 20 seasons. He made his NHL debut in 1981-82 with the New York Rangers where he spent the first 11 years of his career. In 1993-94, Beezer joined the expansion Florida Panthers where he remained for 5 years. Vanbiesbrouck next tended goal for two seasons in Philadelphia, which preceeded a year with the Islanders and a final stint with the Devils. During his career he won 374 games, registered 40 shutouts and posted a 2.97 GAA. He partook in 3 NHL All Star games and was twice a 1st or 2nd team NHL All Star. In 1986 he captured the Vezina Trophy as the leagues top goalie. John represented Team USA in the 1998 Olympic Games as well as the 1987 and 1991 Canada Cups. The Stanley Cup would ultimately elude him, but not for the lack of effort as we all remember him carrying the upstart Florida Panthers on his back to the Stanley Cup Finals, only to fall to Patrick Roy and his mighty Colorado Avalanche squad.

The sleeves on this gamer have been customized for Vanbiesbrouck with elastic added to the cuffs. Further customizations include an extra panel of material sewn into each side of the shortened hem. The game wear on this size 52 Goalie cut sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer and pilling. Beezer played in 62 games, posting 27 Wins, 6 by way of shutout and 15 ties to go along with a stellar 2.18 GAA while wearing this sweater during the 1998-99 season. A wonderful heavily customized offering that was worn by 3-time NHL All Star, which will also include a pair of game worn black alternate socks.
