This home white air-knit gamer by Starter was worn by Jimmy Waite during the 1998-99 NHL season, his last in the NHL. The Chicago Blackhawks selected Waite 8th overall in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. After a couple of years in the QMJHL, Waite joined the Hawks in 1988-89 and began what would be a 22-year professional career. Jimmy’s NHL career spanned 11 seasons. He spent 8 of those years with the Blackhawks, a lone season with the Sharks and a final 2 years with the Phoenix Coyotes. When his NHL days were done, Waite spent a couple of seasons in the AHL and then went to Europe where he wrapped up a 9-year run in the DEL.
The game wear on this size 60 2nd set goalie cut sweater consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer and pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Phoenix Coyotes game worn jersey and set tagging. This 2nd set jersey is one of, if not the last gamer worn by Waite during his NHL career.
