Description
1998-99 Jeff Odgers Colorado Avalanche Game Worn Jersey - "CHS" - Team Letter
Lot #266
This home white air-knit gamer by Starter was worn by Jeff Odgers during the 1998-99 NHL playoffs. This undrafted enforcer began his NHL career with the expansion San Jose Sharks during their inaugural season. Odgers called the Shark Tank home for 5 seasons before spending a year in Boston. In 1997-98, Jeff joined the Colorado Avalanche and remained part of the franchise for 3 years. He then finished his career with another 3-year stint, joining the Atlanta Thrashers. Odgers was one of the legendary goons of his era, racking up an impressive 2364 PIMS in just 821 games of service.

Sewn to the left shoulder of this gamer is the “CHS” patch, in commemoration of the Columbine High School shootings. The game wear on this 3rd set size 56 goalie cut sweater is on the lighter side, consistent with Jeff’s ice time thru the 15-game post season, with scattered stick marks being most worthy of mention. On the back player number is a beautiful personalized silver sharpie autograph in Jeff’s own hand. The 1998-99 season saw Odgers obtain a single season career best 259 PIMS, afterwhich he added another 14 in the playoffs for good measure. “CHS” patched gamers have been elusive and should interest the patch collectors, Avalanche fans and the fight fans. This jersey will be accompanied by an Avalanche team letter.
