1998-99 J.S. Giguere St. John Flames Game Worn Jersey
Lot #396
This road red knit gamer by Bauer was worn by Jean Sebastien Giguere during the 1998-99 AHL season. The Hartford Whalers selected Giguere with the 13th overall pick in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. After briefly suiting up for the Whalers, Giguere spent a couple of seasons in Calgary before joining Anaheim for a 9-year stint. In 2002-03, Giguere led the Mighty Ducks to the Stanley Cup Finals where they fell at the hands of the New Jersey Devils in a hard fought 7-game series. So spectacular was his efforts that playoff season, that Giguere was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP, posting 15 victories and a 1.62 GAA. Giguere is an NHL All Star who has also represented team Canada in the World Championships. Since leaving the Ducks, Giguere has represented the Maple Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche.

“Jiggy” spent parts of 3 seasons with Saint John in the late 1990’s. Offered here is his road sweater from that early period of his career. Sewn to the right breast of this gamer is the sponsorship patch. The game wear on this size 58 goalie cut sweater is solid and consists of stick and puck marks, goal post paint transfer and plenty of pilling. A beautiful example from the early part of this Conn Smythe winner’s career.
