1998-99 Ian Laperriere Los Angeles Kings Game Worn Jersey
Lot #346

GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to bring this exciting collection of game worn enforcers and tough guys to the hobby exclusively thru our Spring 2018 Auction. These 11 NHL and minor league game worn jerseys have been held in a private collection since being purchased beginning nearly 20 years ago and have been out of hobby circulation ever since. Included in this group of legendary tough guys are some extremely difficult to find players and styles, most which are being offered at auction for the first time!

This purple and black air-knit gamer by Starter was worn by Ian Laperriere during the 1998-99 NHL season. The St. Louis Blues selected Laperriere in the 7th round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. This Montreal native made his NHL debut with St. Louis in 1993-94. After a few years with the Blues, Laperriere played briefly for the New York Rangers before joining the Los Angeles Kings where he played for 9 seasons. A 4-year stint with Colorado was then followed by a final NHL season with the Philadelphia Flyers. All told, this Center spent 1083 games over the course of 16 NHL seasons. During that time, this tough guy amassed 1956 PIMS on the strength of an impressive and underrated 13 triple digit PIMS years.

The game wear on this 1st set size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, stitch popped cuffs, fine exterior Starter style pilling and gobs of inner pilling. Penned in the collar are the set and year designation along with the initials of the Kings equipment man. A nice example worn by this feisty center iceman and dating to the Kings first year while wearing their new crest and color scheme.
