GAMEWORNAUCTIONS.NET is pleased to present The Chris Chelios Collection. This exciting collection of game worn jerseys, game used sticks and memorabilia comes directly from the personal collection of 3-time Norris Trophy winner and Hall of Famer Chris Chelios. Chelios personally collected these items over the course of his Hall of Fame career. Each has been in Mr. Chelios’ personal collection since leaving the ice and all are fresh to the hobby. A signed letter from Chris Chelios will accompany your purchase.

This road orange air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by Eric Lindros during the 1998-99 NHL season. Lindros entered the NHL with perhaps as much fanfare as any player in league history. Drafted by Quebec 1st overall in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, Eric refused to play in French Canada and forced the Nordiques into making a draft-day deal. The Philadelphia Flyers paid a kings ransom, which included Peter Forsberg to land this giant talent. He began his career with the Flyers in 1992-93 and took the City of Brotherly Love on his back as hockey took center stage once again in Philadelphia. In only his 3rd year of play, Eric won the Hart Memorial Trophy as NHL MVP and the Lester B. Pearson Trophy as the NHL’s outstanding player. Eric put up gaudy numbers as the leader of the Legion of Doom throughout the 1990’s and led the Flyers to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1997. Unfortunately for Flyers fans, his 26 points in 19 playoff games weren’t enough to defeat the eventual champions from the Motor City. Playing such a rough and tumble style had serious consequences for Lindros. He missed parts of virtually every season due to injury, the most serious of which were a series of concussions. After sitting out the entire 2000-01 season, Lindros resumed his career with the Rangers with whom he played for 3 years. A year each in Toronto and Dallas followed before retirement became necessary, putting an end to an exciting career.

In a career filled with what ifs, Lindros played for 13 years in a scant 760 games. During that time he scored 372 goals and 865 points. His 1398 PIMS do not do justice to the rugged style of hockey he played, as he literally ran roughshot over the opposition. Lindros also left his mark on the international world stage, representing Team Canada in the World Championships, the 1991 Canada Cup, the inaugural 1996 World Cup of Hockey and 3 Olympics! Lindros was deservingly elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame with the class of 2016.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this size 58 sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, material pulls and fine inner pilling. Shown above are some beautiful photo matches of Lindros wearing this exact jersey on December 26, 1998 at the United Center in Chicago during the 1998-99 season. On the inside crest are the black sharpie signatures of Lindros and the Flyers equipment man with the further notation “98-99”. Lindros once again put up gaudy numbers while wearing this jersey during road games in 1998-99. Eric lit the lamp 40 times and added 53 assists for 93 points and 120 PIMS in just 71 games played while going +35 as he put forth yet another All Star season. Amazingly, this wonderful example is photo matched to the Flyers visiting Chelios’ hometown of Chicago! This well worn gamer sports the coveted letter of honor and ties this pair of Hall of Fame legends to a winter meeting in the Windy City. This jersey comes directly from The Chris Chelios Collection.
