1998-99 Doug Weight Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey
Lot #194

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Doug Weight during the 1998-99 NHL season. Doug began his career as a member of the New York Rangers in the 1990-91 playoffs where he played a single game. The following year, as a rookie in 1991-92, the Rangers won their 1st ever President’s Trophy compiling the leagues best overall record. He remained a Ranger for 3 seasons before a deadline deal sent him to the Edmonton Oilers.

Weight would spend 9 productive seasons with the Oilers where he established himself among the leagues better playmakers. Doug moved onto the St. Louis Blues where he played for 6 years before moving to Anaheim. A deadline deal in 2006, which was essentially a loan, proved a good one for Weight and the Carolina Hurricanes who captured the 2006 Stanley Cup, the first for each. Weight is presently in his 3rd season as a member of the New York Islanders. To his credit are 4 NHL All Star games. He has represented Team USA in numerous World Championships, the World Cup of Hockey and the Olympics. This Stanley Cup winner is a proud member of the 1000-point club.

Proudly affixed to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The Elite Sportswear tagging is found sewn in both the collar and hem. The game wear is on the lighter side with stick and slash marks on the sleeves and body as well as inner pilling being worthy of mention.
