Dafoe was selected in the 2nd round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, the team with which he began his NHL career. Following parts of 3 seasons with Washington, Byron earned a starting gig with the LA Kings where he played for 2 years. He next became the man in the pipes for the Boston Bruins, holding the starters role for 5 seasons before spending a final 2 years in Atlanta. So stellar was Dafoe’s efforts in 1998-99, that he was selected as the NHL’s 2nd Team All Star goaltender! In 68 contests he posted 32 Wins, 10 by way of shutout and put forth a career best 1.99 GAA.
