This road orange air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by Kjell Samuelsson during the 1997-98 NHL season. This Swedish native began his NHL career in 1985-86 with the New York Rangers after being selected by them in the 6th round of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft. During his 2nd season with New York, Kjell joined the Philadelphia Flyers where he spent the next 6 years. Samuelsson then went across the state and spent 4 years in Pittsburgh before returning to Philadelphia for 3 years and spending a final season with Tampa Bay. Samuellson made a trip to the Cup Finals with the Flyers in 1987 and then won the 1992 Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The game wear on this size 60 sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, plenty of board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, inner pilling and a couple of team-sewn repairs. A fine looking offering from the Flyers short-lived Nike era, worn just a season after the clubs only Stanley Cup Finals appearance during the Lindros Era.
