Description
1997-98 Kelly Buchberger Edmonton Oilers Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #171
This home white air-knit gamer by CCM and RMC Sports was worn by Kelly Buchberger during the 1997-98 NHL season. The Edmonton Oilers selected Buchberger in the 9th round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. He would spend the first 13 years of his 18-year NHL career with the Oilers where he won 3 Stanley Cups and would eventually serve as Team Captain. After leaving Edmonton, he skated for the Thrashers, Kings, Coyotes and Penguins. This feisty winger compiled 2297 PIMS over the course of his 1182 game career.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the Captain’s “C”. The game wear on this 1st set size 56 sweater is solid and consists of numerous stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, a hem slice, inner pilling a well-salted fight strap and in excess of 20 team-sewn repairs, where getting an exact count proved difficult as they litter both sleeves one atop another. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Edmonton Oilers game worn jersey tagging. A heavily worn Captain’s gamer from the latter part of Buchberger’s tenure in Edmonton. This jersey will be accompanied by an Oilers team letter.
