Description
1997-98 Jason Strudwick New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey – Rookie
Lot #188

This home white air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jason Strudwick during the 1997-98 NHL season, his rookie year. The New York Islanders selected Strudwick in the 3rd round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Strudwick made his one-game NHL debut in 1995-96 and spent parts of two seasons with the Islanders before joining the Vancouver Canucks in a trade for Gino Odjick. After 5 seasons in Vancouver, Strudwick spent time with the Blackhawks, Rangers and Oilers before completing his career in Sweden. All told this hard-nosed winger played in 674 games over the course of 14 NHL seasons.

The game wear on this size 58 Goalie cut sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes and inner pilling. On the inside crest is a black sharpie signature and year designation in the hand of the Islanders equipment manager. Strudwick played a mere 17 games for the Islanders as a rookie before being dealt to Vancouver for Gino Odjick at the trade deadline. A coveted short-lived style of NY Islanders game worn history.
