Description
1997-98 Jason Dawe New York Islanders Game Worn Jersey - Team Letter
Lot #222
This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by Jason Dawe during the 1997-98 NHL season. The Buffalo Sabres selected Dawe in the 2nd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. Dawe’s NHL career spanned 8 seasons and included stays with Buffalo, the Islanders, Canadiens and Rangers. During the mid 1990’s Dawe was twice a 20+-goal scorer with the Buffalo Sabres.

Offered here is Dawe’s first Islanders jersey, worn as he arrived with the team at the 1997-98 trading deadline. This jersey originates from the 1996-97 and 1997-98 team sets that we purchased directly from the New York Islanders back in the fall of 1998. This is one of the most rare jersey styles in New York Islanders team history. The game wear on this size 56 goalie cut sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, plenty of board burns, pulls, heavy pilling and a handful of team-sewn repairs. Also worthy of mention is evidence of a nameplate change. On the inside crest is a black sharpie signature in the hand of the New York Islanders equipment manager. This jersey will be accompanied by an Islanders team letter.
