1997-98 Jamie Macoun Toronto Maple Leafs Game Worn Jersey
Lot #125
This road blue air-knit gamer by Nike was worn by Jamie Macoun during the 1997-98 NHL season. After playing his college hockey at Ohio State University, this Hamilton native made his NHL debut in 1982-83 with the Calgary Flames where he played for 9 seasons. Macoun joined the Maple Leafs during the 1991-92 campaign and took part in the teams deep and exciting playoff runs the following couple of springs. After parts of 7 seasons in Toronto, the Detroit Red Wings dealt for Macoun at the deadline in 1997-98, trying to bolster their blueline for another run at the Stanley Cup. Jamie did in fact win a Stanley Cup with Detroit that spring, the 2nd of his career with the first coming in Calgary in 1989. Following the 1998-99 season, Macoun announced his retirement from the sport after 16 years and 1128 games of service.

Proudly sewn to the left breast of this gamer is the alternate Captain’s “A”. The sleeves on this gamer have been customized for Macoun by the team. The game wear on this 4th set size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer and inner pilling. Sewn to the inside hem is the official Toronto Maple Leafs game worn jersey and set tagging. A nice example worn by this veteran defenseman during his last season with the Leafs.
