Description
1997-98 J.P. Dumont New York Islanders Pre Season Game Worn Jersey Team Letter
Lot #216
This road blue air-knit gamer by CCM was worn by J.P. Dumont during the 1997-98 NHL pre-season and as such is a pre-rookie jersey. The New York Islanders selected Dumont with the 3rd overall pick in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. A contract dispute between Dumont and the Islanders caused the Isles to send Dumont to the Blackhawks via trade. J.P. made his NHL debut with Chicago in 1998-99 and played for parts of 2 seasons with the Hawks before joining the Buffalo Sabres where he spent 5 years. After leaving Buffalo, Dumont joined the Nashville Predators where he played for the final 5 years of his career. Despite never matching the gaudy scoring totals he amassed in juniors, Dumont ended his NHL career with better than 200 goals and 500 points.

The game wear on this size 56 goalie cut sweater is solid and consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, board paint transfer, un-repaired burn holes, pulls and inner pilling. On the inside crest is a black sharpie signature in the hand of the Isles equipment manager that dates this jersey 97-98. This jersey was part of the runs of NY Islanders team sets that we acquired from the team in the late 1990’s and it has remained as part of a single owner private collection ever since. Intriguing fresh item of a short-lived style in New York Islanders history. This jersey will be accompanied by an Islanders team letter.
